Also in the later dial.] tr.a. To envelop, wrap, wreathe; embroil (a person, animal, etc.) ((up) in something); to wind (a person) round with. Also fig. or in fig. context. b. Of a person or animal: To (cause to) curl up. Also reflex. c. To wind up, thus, terminate (the thread of life). d. To fold (cloth). e. To wrap (cloth, etc.) round (about) (something).a. p.t. 15..
