BÜ, v. Sh. spelling of Eng. be and, in unstressed position, pronounced as in Eng. In the second and third person sing. the form büs may also be used. Pa.p. bün.Sh. 1914 Angus Gl.:
If ye bü. If du büs.Sh.(D) 1931 “Saga” in Shet. Times (14 March) 7:
I cam in frae da byre, whaar I hed bün shjüllin' a knave-fu o' muck.

[In some cases the ü spelling may represent the flat vowel with a slight rounding.]
