BACK-RACK, n. The half of an animal's carcase which has the vertebrae and small ribs attached, the lying-side (see Lie, v., 7. (4)) (Rxb. a.1838 Jam. MSS. XI. 11). [Back + Eng. dial. rack, a part of the spine, the bones of a carcase, of obscure orig.]
