Bombasie, Bumbasy, n. Also: bombase, -besie, -bacy(e, -bacie; bumbasie (bwm-), -bassie, -bacie, bunbasey, bwmbisie. [e.m.E. bombasie (1576), rare variant of bombasyne (1572), bumbazine, etc. , F. bombasin, late L. bombasinum, variant of bombycinum.] The dress material bombasine.
