Ox-hide, n. Also: ox-, oix-hyd, oex-heyd. Plur. oxin(e)-, oxen-, oxne-, olxin- and -hydis, -es, hid(d)is. [e.m.E. oxe hyde (1497).] The hide of an ox. a1500 Henr. Fab. 2317 (H).
