BAUCH, v.

1. To make ice soft or cause it to thaw and lose its slipperiness by throwing sand, salt, etc., upon it.Ags.9 1926:
Dinna bauch the slide.
Ags. 1931 J. D. Simpson in Abd. Press and Jnl. (15 Jan.):
To “bauch a slide” is to put sand or the like upon it.
