POUSTIE, n. Also pouste; conflated forms pousture, -er, puster, pooster (Sh. a.1838 Jam. MSS. XII. 177, 1908 Jak. (1928), ouster [sic]), postour, prob. by confusion with Pouster, n., q.v.
