Repon(e, -ponn, v. Also ? erroneous with altered prefix: respone. [L. repōnere to replace, restore. Cf. med. L. (Latham) reponere ad manum to restore to possession, reponere in legem to free from outlawry. Cf. also 17th c. Eng. repone to answer (once, 1644).]
