(Smiddy-land,) Smid(d)ieland, n. Also: smyddi(e)-, -e-, smedi-, smed(d)y-, smethi-, -y-, smythi- and -lande. [Smiddy n. and Land n.1 6.] Land where a smithy is situated, lands attached or pertaining to a smithy.(a) 1517 Auchtermuchty Chart. 2.
