Stouk, Stowk, n.2 Also: stouke, stouck, stuik, steuk, stewk. [ON stúka a wing of a building, a chapel or vestry of a church.] In Orkney & Shetland: A prebend, the benefice supporting a prebendary. Also, the lands with which a prebend is endowed. Chiefly with specification of the dedicatee (cf. ON Nikulás-stúka, Jóns-stúka (Cleasby-Vigf.)); also, once, of the place (see the quot. 1604 Shetl.
