Habergeoun, -geon, n. Also: habir- (habbire-, habbyr-, abir-), habyr-, habar-, and -geone, -jeone, -gioun, -gione, -gyon, -joun(e, -jowne, -june, -jon(e, -jonn, -johne. (ME. habergeoun, -geon, -jon(e, etc., haberion (13th c.), OF. habergeon (12th c.). Cf. Haberschoun,n. and Haubergeoun.] A sleeveless coat or jacket, of mail or leather, worn as a piece of body armour.(a) c1420 Wynt. iv. 2282.
