(esp. med. L.) non-.In the earlier instances freq., but by no means invariably, written as one word with its second element.]A negative prefix used chiefly in legal compounds and occurring chiefly in legal writings. Appar. earlier and commoner than the similar uses of Nocht adv. (B 11) and Not adv. (2).
