Procuratory, -ie, n. Also: -ori, -oré, -oury, -ie, -ury, procurattory, procuratrie, -atrj, (procuratourlie). [ME procuratorye (Wyclif) delegation to a procurator or attorney, med. L. procuratorium (1259, 1684 in Latham) proxy, f. as Procurato(u)r n.¹Cf. ME (1459) and e.m.E. procuratorie, -y adj., of or pertaining to a procurator or procurators, late L. prōcūrātōri-us, med. L. (littere) procuratorie (c 1235, 15th c. in Latham).]Commonly abbreviated as pro^rie.

c. spec. Authorization or authority delegated to another or others to resign in one's name a property or right to the superior for reconveyance.
