Akin, Aikin, a. Also: akyn(e, ackyn, akk(e)in; aiken, aikine, aikne, aickin, -yn, aikkin, aykkin, aikkan; eakin, eiken. [f. Ake, Aik n. Cf. the early place-name Akinhede (1260), Akynhevid (1379).
