Ake, Aik, n. Also: ak; aike (ailk), ayk(e, aick, ayik, aek, eak, eaik. [Northern ME. ake, ak, OE. ác (whence also ME. ok, oke, ook). Cf. the early place-name Akedene (c 1204), repr. OE. áce-denu.]
