Ester, Eister, Easter, a. Also: estre, estyr, estir; eyster, eistyr, eistir, eistar. [ME. (rare) ester (1387), OE. éastra, éastera, compar. of éast- Est a.] The more easterly of two places, buildings or other things, in contrast to Wester a.
