Hy, v. Also: hi, hye. [ME. hij, hy(e (a 1300), hie (1297), hiȝe, highe, etc., early hiȝhenn (Orm), OE. híᵹian. In the principal sense, only in verse.]

1. reflex. and intr. To hasten, go quickly. Chiefly with complements, of destination or direction. Also absol., to hasten away, be off.(1) reflex. 1375 Barb. iii. 635.
