Pendale, -ele, n. [med. L. (in Latham) pendale (c 1494), -ile (c 1495), pendilium (c 1465), hanging, curtain, pendalis adj. hanging (1388), f. as Pend v.1 and v.2] A valance or hanging for an altar: cf. Pendicle n. 2. —1501 Treas. Acc. II. 65 (see Antependale n.). 1512 Ib. IV. 358.
