Marking, -eing, Merking, vbl. n. [ME. and e.m.E. marking(e, -yng(e, merkynge (14th c.).] a. The action of Mark v. in various senses: Plotting or marking with boundary-marks; stamping or branding with a mark of identification, attestation, etc.; marking with sea-marks. b.
