HUTHERIN, n. A hybrid or cross-bred vegetable (see quot.).Fif. 1825 Jam.:
A mongrel sort of greens, propagated from the seed of common greens and cabbage, when they grow too near to each other. A stalk of this description is called a hutherin, or a hutherin stock.
