Premonis, -ish(e, -eis, v. Also: -issh, -ich. P.p. also premoneist. [e.m.E. premonyssh (1526), -ish, f. L. præmonēre to forewarn, foreshow, conformed to Admoneis and Mones.]
1. tr. To warn, advise or caution beforehand. Variously const.1558-66 Knox II 142.
