BOO, v.1 Used as in St.Eng. The following meaning, however, seems peculiar to Sc.: to speak in a loud, monotonous tone and to little purpose.Sc. 1887 Jam.6, s.v. bu; Bnff.2, Abd.22, Ags.1, Fif.1, Edb.1 1935:
He boo'd awa' for an hour, an' tell'd us nathing.
