Affix, v. Also: afyx, affex; affixt; effix, -yx, -ex. [First in p.p. affixit, f. L. affixus, p.p. of affīgere. App. not in Eng. use till late in 16th c.]
1. tr. To attach or append (a seal) to a document.1456 Reg. Dunferm. 341 (my selle [is] affixit and to put). 1474 Edinb. B.
