Beneth, prep. and adv. Also: benethe, beneeth, beneith, -ytht, beneath (benath, benaith). [e.m.E. beneth, ME. benethe, earlier beneðen, beneoðen, OE. beneoðan. The short vowel is usual in Sc., rare in Eng.]
