Betraise, Betres(e, v. Also: betras(e, bytrase, betrais, -ays; betreis, betreys. [ME. betrais, betrayse (c 1300), f. OF. traïss-, trahiss-. lengthened stem of traïr, trahir: see Betray.] tr. To betray; to act treacherously or deceitfully towards; to deceive.(a) 1375 Barb. v. 539.
