Brume, n. Also: brum, brwm(e, bruym, breum, brewm. [Normal variant spelling of Brome n.]

1. The plant broom. Also in collective sense.Appears early in the place-name Brumcrok (c 1300). 1478 14th Rep. Hist. MSS. App. iii. 20.
