Confort, Confourt, n. Also: -forte, -fourte. [Early ME. confort, OF. confort. Cf. Comfort and Conford. A common form between 1550 and 1600.]

1. Comfort(ing), consolation, encouragement.(a) a1400 Leg. S. ii. 613.
