Dinmont, n. Also: dinmonth, -mound; dynmont, -month(e, -mount, dymmont; dynmund, -mound, -mond, dimond. [Of obscure origin. Also in northern Eng. as dynmonthe (1542), dinmont (1584 and mod. dial.). See also Dilmont and Dunmont.] A wether between the first and second shearing. Also in collective use, and attrib. with scheip.(1) 1306 Acts I. 178.
