Faith, Fayth, Fath(e, n. Also: faithe, faythe; faitht, faytht, fatht; faicht, facht. [ME. faith, fayth, varr. of feith, feyth, OF feit, feid. The forms with final -tht and -cht are partly editorial expansions of scribal contractions, as fayt.]
