Glide, Glyde, v. Also: glyd, glyid, glid, gleid. P.t. glad(e, glaid, glayde. [ME. glyde, glide, OE. glídan (p.t. glád).]

1. intr. Of persons or things: To move or go easily or smoothly. (Only in poetry.)(a) a1500 Henr. Fab. 540.
