Lach, v.1 [ME. lache, lacche(n, e.m.E. latch, OE. læcc(e)an, ONorthumb. læcca. ME. and e.m.E. have lached, latched, p.t. and p.p., beside the older laught, laȝt, for which see Laucht v.1] tr. a. To catch, capture, trap. b. To snatch off. — 1535 Stewart 8823.
