Lade-sadil, n. Also: laid(e)-, lead- and -sadle, -said(d)ill, -ell, -le. [North. ME. and e.m.E. ladsadell (1397–8), ladesadil, layd-sadylle (Cath. Angl.), lade sadle (1563), also later north. Eng. dial. lade-saddle also load-saddle; f. Lade n.¹ Only north. and Sc. Cf. Lode-saidell.]
