Landis-lord, n. Also: landes-lorde, lands-lord. [e.m.E. (c 1590) lands-lord (once), otherwise only Sc. (as against the common ME. (1419– ) and e.m.E. landlord): cf. Land(i)s-la(i)rd and Landis-lady.] A landlord.
a. Chiefly, the landlord or proprietor of a landed estate (cf. Land n.1 6): cf. Land(i)s-la(i)rd a. c1552 Lynd. Mon. 4734.
