Lauchty, Laughtie, n. [Erron. var. of lauty, -ie, lawty Laute(e, ? analysed as law (as if Law n.1) + -ty, with lauch, laugh (Lauch n.1) substituted for law, or ? by mistaking lauty, -ie as lauty, lautie.] Fidelity, good faith, integrity, just conduct, justice. — 1519 Selkirk B. Ct. 71 b.
