Mandill, n. Also: -eil(l, -el(l, -al(l, mandle. [Late var. of Mantil(l n.: cf. 15–16th c. F. mandil, -ille, Sp., Port. mandil and Mantele n.] A kind of cloak or cape. Also attrib. = Mantill n. 1, 1 e.(1) 1579 Inv. Wardrobe 281.
