Oratour, Oritour, n.2 Also: -oure, -or(e, -ur(e, oritwre, -oire, oretour. [ME. (once) oritore (Gawaine & Gr. Kn.), OF. oratur (12th c.), -or, -our (mod. oratoire, 14th c. in Littré): cf. Oratory.]
An oratory, a (usually small) chapel for private prayer and worship, either as an apartment set aside for this in a religious or secular building or as a separate building; a private chapel. Also b. A small room set aside for meditation and study, a study.(a) a1400 Legends of the Saints xvi. 907.
