Partisan, -izan, n. Also: -isand, -isen(e, -izen, -isine, -izone, -icane, -esane, -esene, -esin, -eson; partasome; also (? possess.) -isences. [e.m.E. partisan (1556), -yzyne (1557), -ison (1573–80), -esant (1583), pertison (1596), etc., 16th c. F. partizane, part(h)isane.]
