Pasch(e)-finis, -fynis, n. pl. Also: paische- and -fines, -fynes; paysche-fynnis. [Pas(c)h(e n. 1 b; Fine n. 5, and also in late ME. (1422–), applied to money settlements of various kinds: cf. also Pais-fynnance, Pace n.2 1 b (3).] ‘Easter-fines’: a collective term for a certain payment made at Easter in local churches.Appar. providing part of the emoluments of the vicar or actual incumbent of the church, and perh. = Pasch offrandis, rekning(is, Pas(c)h(e n. 1 b (6): see also quot. 1538, Pas(c)h(e n. 1 b (2).(a) 1531–2 Reg.
