Pendas, -ace, -es, n. Also: -asse, -eis; -is, -ice; pandace. Also ? Penace. [OF. (? once only) pendace hanging breast or pap, also OF. pendisel dangling ornament, and OF. pendeis, pendiz adj. hanging, and n. lean-to, penthouse, f. as Pend v.1] Appar., the ornamental end of a strap or belt, such as hung down from the buckle, an aiglet; also, an ornamental strip hanging from a bishop's mitre.In plur. also without inflexion.(a) 1464–5 Reg.
