Pipe, Pyp(e, n.² Also: pip, pyip; peip; payp. [ME. and e.m.E. pipe (1392–3), pype (1411), F. pipe cask for wine, etc., also a measure, f. as Pipe n.¹ in spec. sense of a cylindrical container.] A large cask, used for wine, also for other commodities; a pipe.For further examples, see Dry ware n., Mele n.¹ 3 c, Punschioune n., sek, wine, etc.In size, the equivalent of two puncheons or four barrells, the capacity varying according to the sort of commodity contained. — And four punshions makes a tun and tuo pypes goes to a tun or eight haill barrells; Tract.
