Pot(t)-paper, -paipper, n. [e.m.E. (1579) ‘a size of printing or writing paper: originally bearing the watermark of a pot’ (OED). Cf. Pot(t n.1 1 b.] A particular make of paper, appar. an expensive sort, named from its watermark of a pot. — 1579 Edinb. Test. VII 276 b.
