Pundar, Ponder, Punner, n.¹ Also: pundare, -er, -or. [North. ME ponder (c1400). Cf. Poindar, Pinder, Poundar, (and Pundlar).] = Poindar n. a. A person appointed to watch for and impound trespassing cattle, a pounder. b. A private person who impounds cattle. c. An official who distrains goods, a poinder.a. (a) c1450-2 Howlat 782 (A) (see Pundfald n. 1 (b)).
