Quhare, Quhair, adv. and conj. Also: quhar, qwhar(e, quare, qwar(e, whare; quhaire, quair, qwayr, whair(e, vhair; quhaer; whear(e; quhaur; for, fair (with north-eastern f for quh. (Cf. Folp n.). [North. ME quar, war (Cursor M.), quare, whare (Cursor M.), whaire (a 1450), ME whor(e (Manning), ME ware, early ME quar, quor (Gen. & Exodus), hwar (Ancr. R.), ware (Ancr. R.), OE hwár, hwára, also hwar, hwara and ON hvar. Cf. also Quher(e.]Doubtless many of the following examples represent editorial expansion of the abbreviation q^r (occasionally v^r).In many senses also quhare that.
