Raisit, Rasit, -yt, ppl. adj. (and p.p.). Also: raissit, raised, raysde, rassit, reasit. [e.m.E. rais(e)d increased in height (1582), standing out (1599), lifted up (1627), etc., f. Rais(e v.]

1. Raisit werk, a decorative pattern in relief, cut on the surface of a piece, or article, of wood or stone or hammered out on sheet metal.Cf. e.m.E. raisd gold (1599). 1519 Reg. Episc. Aberd. II 174.
