Reddy, -ie, adj. and adv. Also: -ye, -i, -é; redy(e, -i(e, -é, -ey; read(d)y, -ie; reidy; reedie; riddy, -ie, -é; rydé, rydi-; Raddy. [Early ME rædig (Orm), rædi (Layamon), readi (a1240), ME and e.m.E. redie (c1200), late ME and e.m.E. readie (1461), e.m.E. reddy (1526), appar. f. OE rǽde or gerǣde, with the addition of the suffix -ig.] Ready, in the usual senses and applications.In senses 1–5 only predic., and in senses 8–10 only attrib.
