Scaldit, Scallit, ppl. adj. Also: scalded, skaldit; scalled, skallit, -et. [ME and e.m.E. scallede (1340), scaled (Chaucer); Scald adj.] Scabbed, scabby, chiefly as a term of abuse, despicable, contemptible. Also transf.(a) a1508 Kennedy Flyt. 37.
