A. adv.I. Modifying verbs.The sorts of verbs modified are indicated at each sense. The lists are not, however, complete and determining the sense in each case depends not only on the particular verb but on the whole context of the occurrence. Hence the same sort of verb may be indicated in different senses. Furthermore, there is considerable overlap between the senses so that on some occasions particular examples might equally well have been assigned to other senses.
