¶MAULEY, n. An affectionate name for a cat, pussy.Sh. a.1931 M. B. Paxton Prisoner of Happy Hansel 41:
“Hoots, my peery wee mauley, dinna blind me wi' dy tail, my peery wee thing”, replied Jarum, changing the cat from one shoulder to the other.
