SKALDER, v., n. [′skɑldər]

I. v. To laugh in a loud noisy manner, to shriek with laughter (Ork. 1929 Marw.; Sh. 1970).

II. n. A loud shrill laugh (Sh. 1970).

[Norw. dial. skaldra, to clash, rattle, peal with Laughter. Cf. Skilder.]
