-WITH, suff. Also -wath, woth, wuth. As in Eng., compounded with preps. and advs. denoting direction, motion or extension. See under significant word, as Backwith, doonwith, s.v. Doon, adv.¹, III. 45., Hamewith, Inwith, adv., Outwith, Upwith. In Sc. the usage has been extended to common and even proper nouns (see below), prob. partly due to conflation with -warth, -worth, -wirth, s.v. -Wart, suff.Ags. 1896 A. Blair Rantin Robin 112:
