-WITH, suff. Also -wath, woth, wuth. As in Eng., compounded with preps. and advs. denoting direction, motion or extension. See under significant word, as Backwith, doonwith, s.v. Doon, adv.1, III. 45., Hamewith, Inwith, adv., Outwith, Upwith. In Sc. the usage has been extended to common and even proper nouns (see below), prob. partly due to conflation with -warth, -worth, -wirth, s.v. -Wart, suff.Ags. 1896 A. Blair Rantin Robin 112:
